Girls Night Out is an annual fundraiser held in Fairhaven, WA. We rely entirely on community donations and volunteers to plan, organize, fund and run this event. Girls Night Out began in 2005 as a fundraiser for Peace Health Cancer Center's Clinical Trials Program. It was created by Jody Finnegan, Shoe Maven and Owner of 12th Street Shoes, as a way to give back to a female-centered community need. The event was run for a number of years by Jody and she's still an amazing member of the committee!. Since then, event chairs have been members of the Fairhaven community, including Cathy Lee, Pam Felke, Shannon Day, Ali Alsos, Jody Finnegan, Becky Ludwig and Ria Van Weerdhuizen. The committee has always been a huge part of the event planning, working and fund raising! This year that tradition continues with a dynamic group of people who are always willing to do whatever needs to be done with great ideas, collaboration and heart! We truly love our committee and all our volunteers. A special thank you to them, as their efforts and labors are priceless! This is the second year that one hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to Lydia Place, a nonprofit, community-based agency serving homeless families since 1989. Lydia Place is an active participant in our community’s efforts to end homelessness in Whatcom County. The mission of Lydia Place is to support all people in establishing sustained independence by providing housing, supportive services, advocacy, education, and by raising awareness of the faces and causes of homelessness.
